The view from the front of a snowy Senator Theatre
I went to The Senator Theatre in Baltimore, MD last night to cover Fortune5Fifty’s “Live at The Senator” event. The Senator is a beautifully-restored movie theatre with awesome lighting and amazing sound.
Musical acts included MarmOset, Sonic Spank, Segway, Autobody and Orchard Lounge.
There were also local artists painting live, your typical movie theatre fare (popcorn, sodas, etc.), fulls bars and more. The bathrooms were jammed with movie memorabilia and every man to use the restroom was greeted by Han Solo frozen in carbonite watching them from the corner. Now that I’ve mentioned Star Wars, there was also a giant Millennium Falcon perched right above the concession stand.
This was my first time covering a concert event of this magnitude, although I had covered the CKC Pig Roast this past October. It was awesome to be able to get up on stage and see everyone perform up close and personal. I had a blast and hope I can get more opportunities to show my stuff with F5F in the future. I CANNOT wait to cover CKC’s Rock the Ribbon event in March in Philly. It’s going to be awesome on at least 4.5 levels. Check out the link if you love live music, gourmet food, top-shelf liquor and supporting a create cause!
